Darren Guy recently joined us as Regional Director of our North West services and has already spent his first couple of weeks getting to know many of the staff across these services and Optimo as a whole…
As a former National Care Director and long-term Guest Judge at The Great British Care Awards, Darren has built and developed many award-winning home care businesses across Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Like so many individuals, he fell into the Health & Social Care Sector, almost by accident, when he started as a very young and relatively inexperienced New Business Manager, recruited to open up a brand new location with Careforce, many years ago… He went on to become a Peripatetic Manager and then on to a Group Operations Manager position. Darren has worked for some of the biggest names in the care sector and developed national and international care provisions, including Home Care, Live-in Care, Supported Living and more diversified services such as Children’s and Young People’s and for those with learning disabilities.
Darren prides himself on being an approachable individual with a real passion for people and an uncompromising drive to set exemplary standards of care balanced with sound commercial acumen.
One of the biggest things Darren has picked up on within the Optimo Group so far, is the depth of skill, knowledge and experience within the business and, in his words, “the unerring resilience, desire and helpful nature of the teams to support and assist at every opportunity.” Darren looks forward to working with all of his colleagues and to supporting with strengthening the Optimo Care Group brand even further as we move into the future.
