A warm welcome goes to Tracy Walshaw! Tracy joined us as Regional Director of Yorkshire services a couple of weeks ago and has been busy getting to know her new colleagues in and around the business. So far, she’s met mainly with central service staff, service managers, and other office teams; she said that all have been extremely welcoming and helpful and that she’s looking forward to meeting all of our Yorkshire staff over the coming weeks and months!
Like many in the industry, Tracy’s career in care began almost unexpectedly, whilst helping out with data input! (and she says she’s never looked back since…) In Wakefield, 22 years ago, she took up a temporary role (around the time electronic rota systems were first introduced!). She then progressed to Care Coordinator and, following this, to Registered Manager; before diversifying to become a National Recruitment Manager (for a short spell) but she missed her work in Operations and went on to an Area Manager’s position and from this has moved on to Regional Director…
Tracy says she’s had some amazing mentors along the way who’ve inspired and supported her career progression; she also says that it’s been refreshing to find that succession planning and career development are at the heart of the Optimo Care Group… Having worked for several care companies, primarily through acquisition and mergers, Tracy has built up a wealth of knowledge in various Community, Health & Live-in related services, including (and mostly in) domiciliary care. Her work has taken her across much of the country, including the North East, North West and the East of England; however (in her words), ‘she’s pleased to be back on her own turf here in Yorkshire.’
Welcome to Optimo Tracy & good luck in your new role!
